Horseback Trails


As we leave the stables, we enter the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate for a safari like no other.  There is no loud sound of an engine, only the clip clops of the horse’s hooves, there is no ordinary straight road, but the fun of winding route on the game paths, there is nothing else but the tranquillity of the surrounding bush.  


Trail rides are offered to those visitors wishing to experience the freedom of a riding safari.

Shangana Cultural Village


A bustling African market village forms the centre of Shangana, where local crafts people make and trade their craft.  From here, trained guides lead guests down to villages on daytime tours, midday tours with lunch and the famed festival in the Chief’s Kraal.

Shangana has been created and built by local Shangaan people and forms a place of great pride and a way of preserving a rich heritage for us.

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre


HESC houses a number of animal species including cheetah, African Wild Dog, Lion, African Wild Cat, Ground Hornbill, Sable Antelope to name just a few.  


Visitors can view the resident animals in close proximity, in a habitat simulating what they would experience in the wild.  Guests are also afforded the opportunity of watching rare African Vultures feeding at the Vulture Restaurant.
